That Girl doesn’t speak of what she’s done and

The truth is she’s not that slow.

There is another girl, and
She’s actually worth your time, your effort, and tears.
She is the Nice Girl, you know,
The one you’ve been “looking for” all these years.

It’s funny, how things work out.
That Girl, the one you want, hurts you and lies,
But you ignore the one who’s been there for you,
The Nice Girl, calming your heartbreaking cries.

If there is anyone around who knows grief,
The Nice Girl takes the greatest fall.
She’s kept your promises; she’s been your best friend
But still you can’t see her at all.

She is all you’ve ever wanted, but goes
Unnoticed still, as you chase That Girl’s tail.
Neither one will say a word, but
Both of them know you are destined to fail.

When the other looks away,
The Nice Girl looks you square in the eye.
Though she smiles and laughs,
Inside she is stifling her own cry.

She would give anything just to hold your hand
She would give anything to let her emotions free.
But instead she looks at you in wonder, thinking:
“Why do you want her, and not me?”
